Pottery Classes in Oxfordshire
There’s something special about inviting people into the world of pottery here in Oxfordshire.
Over the years, I’ve discovered that clay has a wonderful way of slowing us down, sparking creativity, and encouraging connection. My Oxfordshire pottery classes are designed to give you that experience, whether it’s gathering with friends in the lively setting of a local pub or stepping into the calm, light-filled space of my barn conversion studio. Each workshop offers a chance to switch off from the everyday, get hands-on with clay, and enjoy the simple satisfaction of making something uniquely your own.
Pottery at the Pub, Oxfordshire
One of the most enjoyable ways I’ve been able to bring pottery into the community has been through Pottery at the Pub. These evenings are relaxed, creative, and social. You’ll find yourself seated in the welcoming atmosphere of a local Oxfordshire pub, perhaps with a glass of wine, beer, or even just a soft drink by your side, as you shape and mould clay into something uniquely your own.
For two hours, the focus shifts away from the demands of daily life and onto the simple joy of making. There’s no need for prior experience, just a willingness to get your hands a little messy and enjoy the process. Within minutes, the chatter starts to flow as people begin sharing ideas and laughter around the table. It always amazes me how quickly strangers become companions when clay is involved. The shared activity of creating something tangible seems to soften barriers and spark connection.
At just £30 a session, Pottery at the Pub is an accessible way to try your hand at clay work while enjoying the warm setting of some of Oxfordshire’s much-loved pubs. Whether you come along with friends, work colleagues, or on your own, you’ll leave not only with a handmade piece but also with the memory of a joyful, creative evening.
A Community of Clay
What I love most about running pottery classes in Oxfordshire is not just the making itself, but the sense of community that builds around it. Clay has a way of bringing people together as it invites curiosity, sparks conversation, and leaves everyone with something tangible to take home. More than that, it leaves you with the memory of a few hours well spent, immersed in creativity and connection.
So whether you fancy a lively night of pottery in the pub, or a more reflective session in my barn studio, I would love to welcome you to a workshop. Pottery is about more than the finished object…it is about process, presence, and play. And there is always room at the table for one more pair of hands ready to make.

Workshops in My Oxfordshire Barn Conversion
Alongside Pottery at the Pub, I also run more focused pottery workshops in my barn conversion studio in rural Oxfordshire. The barn is a space that feels both peaceful and inspiring, with the natural light pouring in and the quiet atmosphere lending itself beautifully to creative work.
These sessions are slightly different in that they give you the chance to make multiple pieces, which I then fire in the kiln for you to collect later. Over the course of two hours, you might create pinch pots, small vases, textured dishes, or sculptural forms, each piece reflecting your own imagination and personal touch. The fired work often surprises people, as the transformation from raw clay to finished ceramic brings a sense of accomplishment and delight.
At £40, these pottery workshops are a wonderful way to slow down, reconnect with your hands, and explore clay in a deeper way. Whether you’re completely new to pottery or someone looking to pick it up again, the barn classes offer a balance of mindful making and playful creativity.
