I have always been passionate about horses and our fields on the farm are filled with young horses. In this collection, these well behaved equines are galloping, trotting and prancing across the painterly green surface of the bowl. The bowls are all hand built and each has its own asymmetrical rim giving the bowls a distinctive feel. Each horse design is cut out from a piece of paper and applied onto the clay body. Layers of light green and dark green slip are applied in order to give the piece a textured and painterly depth to the surface. Once all of the nuanced layers of slip are painted on, the paper cut outs are removed to reveal the galloping shapes underneath.
